JC Morton, Logan Roark, and Josh Clark Victorious in Preliminary Night Two of POWRi StockMod Nationals

Belleville, IL(9/29/23) Launching onto the finely tuned hosting track of Lake Ozark Speedway, POWRi StockMod competitors from the remaining three divisions aimed to conquer Eldon Missouri in the Inaugural Andy Zeller Memorial POWRi StockMod Nationals. Preliminary Night Two feature action would witness JC Morton winning in the rapidly growing Late Models, Logan Roark emerging victorious in the Midwest Mods, as well as Josh Clark gaining the prize in the Hornet division with all seventy entries earning event points toward Saturday’s Championship Night.

Early on-track action would find Kyle Graves set the Late Model quick hot-lap time at 14.788 seconds, Jacob Hall would clock the Midwest Mod overall quickest time of 16.493 seconds, and Kyle Burton would log the Hornet divisional best lap of 18.980 seconds.

Heat racing winners would include Justin Russell, Todd McCoin, and Kaden Clatt in the Late Model division. Jacob Hall, Anthony Ferrara, Michael Maggard, and Logan Roark would earn Midwest Mod heat racing wins. Hornet heat race victories would go to Kyle Burton and Josh Clark. Semi-Feature winner would be Tanner Kade in the Midwest Mod class.

Feature night two racing action would roar to life with the Late Model division as the front row of JC Morton and Andy Bryant would battle fender to fender for several laps with Andy Braynt appearing to be the fastest in the class until a mid-race mechanical failure would take him from competition. Inheriting the lead and not looking back, JC Morton would take the checkered flag to earn his first career divisional win with Justin Russell placing in a close second. Clinching the National Points Championship, Todd McCoin would finish third with young sensation Kayden Clatt placing third as Tucker Cox rounded out the top five finishers for the Superior Steering Wheels POWRi Super Stock feature event.

Driving onto the track next with a father-and-son Roark front row, rookie-of-the-year sensation Logan Roark would lead the field for the duration of the event to earn his sixth win of his upstart career. High-side hustling Jacob Hall would show ample speed in the runner-up spot with Earl Roark finalizing the podium placements. Staying in the hunt for the full feature Anthony Ferrara would finish fourth with Tanner Kade hard-charging from flipping in his heat race to winning the semi-feature then driving through the field to round out the very competitive top-five finishers in a thrilling twenty-lap feature event.

Finalizing the second night of the Andy Zeller Memorial the Hornet division would witness Josh Clark lead all fifteen laps to capture his third feature victory of the year with hard-charger Dakota Dubea advancing fourteen spots to finish runner-up with national point lead Alvin Cooney placing third. Dustin Reeves would battle Cody Melloway to the line with Reeves earning the fourth spot as Melloway rounded out the top-five finishers in the Hitachi Energy POWRi Pure Stock Preliminary Night competitions.
